I'm sure we will hear a lot from (my fellow) Conservatives on the subject.Mr. Obama reasons that the Chinese government has arbitrarily kept the value of the Chinese currency (renminbi) low for years, rather than than allowing the renminbi's value to 'float' compared with other world currencies - a requirement mandated by their agreement with other major economies for their participation in the 'most-favored nation' program.By keeping their currency artificially low, Chinese exports cost less in America, American exports to China cost more. President Obama orders 30,000 additional to Afghanistan: A lack of good military strategies, and a sensible campaign war plan in Vietnam was a disaster for a nation whose President approved a military buildup of 500,000 troops, and a Congress who authorized the funding for those troops, based solely on the advice of less-than-competent military generals. President Obama, who lacked the experience of most of our recent Presidents who actually put on a uniform in defense of their country (Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Both Bushes), was wise to seek as much advice as possible (CIA, Joint Chiefs, Commanders on the ground, NSA, NSC, Huffington Post, etc.) before committing any more troops to the battle.This reporter believes that this was a good move. That part about the 'just war' was dead on (can we say 9/11 liberals?) This decision was a lot more complicated than some (Sean Hannity comes to mind) with no military experience, little intelligence data, and a paucity of historical reference to guide them, seem to indicate, and we applaud his deliberations and his decisions.If we are going to send U.S. Troops (or airmen, etc.) into another country to die, it must be (a) in our interestrs, and (b) we send them in to WIN. As in Iraq, where neither was a consideration, U.S. Soldiers have died. For what? So the locals, as in Afghanistan also, can demonstrate against the occupying forces, and scream for us to get out. What did we die for in those two countries? So those people could be free? Yeah right. When the uprising in Libya began, the people fighting for democracy (to use our media's favorite term) were in front of the cameras telling the United States and other foreign countries to buut out. When Qudaffi started kicking their asses, there they were in front of the same cameras pleading for help - and complaining that the world had betrayed them.What in Hell are these people talking about. A huge majority in every single Middle-Eastern country, according to all polls, hate Americans. But when a natural disaster or some other malady breaks out, who, singularly is there to help ? Good old America. The days where Uncle Sucker can be expected to make sacrifices strictly for the interests of other countries whose citizens show not one iota of gratitude for those sacrifices are over. It seems that Mr. Obama made a lot of promises, said a lot of things, in his campaign that has lacked truth in practice:1. Leaving Afghanistan.2. Public option in Healthcare.3. Transparency.4. Making the country safer.5. He was a Law Professor (He was a lecturer) (2007)6. 10,000 dead in Kansas Tornado (2007).I think not. In the interest of conveying to the public that he is a glib and articulate speaker, Mr. Obama reads prepared speeches from telepromptors (left and right).You can see why in live interviews which the President rarely gives. His stumbling, bumbling responses to questioning show a less glib side of our leader.Given the tremendous number of speeches Mr. Obama gives, it isn't much of a stretch to conclude that he doesn't even read the speeches - he simply doesn't have time, and, indeed, why should he? Like most elected officials, his main objective is to get re-elected. Doing our bidding is secondary to making us THINK he is working for us. Which is why after hearing a politician speaks, we really have no idea what he has just said.That's where the speech writer comes in. He/she writes mostly nonsense (some write books like "The Audacity of Hope" or "Going Rogue" significant of nothing), but intended to steer you toward thinking the candidate is on to something and that something is, somehow, of great benefit to you and me.The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. I digress. Mr. Obama doesn't write the speeches. He doesn't read them ahead of time. Worms took over our small cherry orchard, and 40,000,000 Africans died from malaria.Without the cameras rolling, or his press secretary spinning his achievements every morning, Mr. Bush quietly did two things: One, he lifted the incomprehensible progressive ban on the use of DDT in malaria-plagued Sub-Saharan Africa. Now African men, women, and especially children no longer have to die in the name of progressive environmentalism.Second, Mr. Bush persuaded Congress to provide $20 Billion in aid to reduce the epidemic of Aids in Africa. The program has been a huge success. Unlike many of the people around the world who have benefited from American generosity over the years, Africans are a grateful people, and the without a single bow or one denigration of a fellow American, the unassuming George Bush has become their hero. While there are always some people who find themselves, through no fault of their own, temporarily unemployed, by shifting the quality of care from the elderly or more affluent to an alleged thirty million uninsured, we are essentially adding another entitled program to the majority of them who have purchased a home they had no way to pay for; or have lived perpetually off government food stamps; or who are in this country illegally; or many who are 3rd, 4th, 5th, generation welfare recipients.Why should I care? I paid for my Medicare and my Social Security, by working for the last 45 years and (involuntarily) paying into a system that was guaranteed by (progressive ) Lyndon Johnson. Now, the same people enumerated above are going to the head of the line to get the same benefits, free, for which I paid all these years. Of course, it isn’t free. The working American will pay for yet another “entitlement program.” wrapped into the guise of ‘Healthcare Reform,’Give me one reason why I shouldn’t be angry.Lacking the tact that grows out of respect for opinion, and frankly, lacking the ability to apply himself to what needs to be done, this President has led himself into some extremely uunpopular moves.Under Federal Civil Rights' Laws, it is ILLEGAL to discriminate in hiring people based on age. May I offer an opinion? We should have monitored his movements and intercepted his phone calls . . . . Oh wait, we can't do that anymore, can we?Third, This is the SECOND major failure of your brief presidency concerning terrorist acts, Ft. Hood being the first. Make no mistake, this terrorist succeeded in getting a bomb aboard an aircraft, and only dumb luck prevented him from killing 287 people - you failed us, again. In spite of your ubiquitous whining about the mess you inherited from the previous administration, George Bush prevented numerous terrorist plots before a single one could reach fruition.You sir are 0 for 2.Republicans, conservatives, capitalists, the military, religious people, businessmen are not the enemy. We are at war with radical Islam, and it's time you and those around you understand that - and govern yourselves accordingly.
